Codere Online, CT interactive, and Nederlandse Online Gambling Associatie have all seen recent changes in their team.


Codere Online

Codere Online appointed three new directors to its Board of Directors – Gabriel Saenz de Buruaga Taavi Davis and Claude Noesen.

All three members were selected to serve an initial one-year term on the Board. They replace Patrick Ramsey Michal Elmelech, and Laurent Teitgen.

Gonzaga higuero is the CEO and Chairperson of Codere Group. He was also appointed as a Director.

Higuero said: “We are pleased to welcome the new members to our Board of Directors and we look forward to working together to continue the progress made by the Company in recent years.”

Codere Online has also made changes to its board committees. Noesen was appointed to the Audit Committee, where he will serve alongside Borja Florandez , Daniel Valdez, and Daniel Valdez .

In the meantime, Rafael Catala, Yaiza Rodrguez, and Mark Dunn were appointed to the Compliance Committee.

Higuero said: “I also want to express my gratitude to Pat for the valuable contribution and dedication he has shown as Chairman of Codere Online since it went public in 2020. I’m excited to have him join me on our parent company Codere New Topco following its recent recapitalisation, as they look forward to a bright future.


CT Interactive

CT Interactive named Monika Zelazova Chief Commercial Officer.

Zlateva has demonstrated leadership and expertise in sales, business strategy and marketing initiatives.

Zlateva brings to CT Interactive a wide range of experience in igaming, having previously held leadership positions at 7777 Gaming BetConstruct Amusnet Gaming SBTech.

Zlateva commented on her new position on LinkedIn: “Very honored and excited to be joining the CT Interactive Team! The casino industry is very close to my heart, so I’m looking forward to working with these great professionals to grow the business! “Stay tuned to see what comes next.”


Louisiana Gaming Control Board

The Governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, has appointed Christopher Hebert to the position of Chairperson for the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. It is the first time an African-American has served as chair.

Hebert, who served for 19 years as Assistant Attorney General of Louisiana and eight of those years as Director of Gaming Division will be in charge of the regulation of gaming under the Pelican State’s jurisdiction.

Landry stated: “I’m proud to announce Christopher Hebert is the new Chairman of Louisiana Gaming Control Board. His experience and knowledge are essential to regulate a huge industry. “I look forward to his great work for our state, and our economy.”

Hebert is replacing Ronnie Johns, the Chair who will relinquish his position at the end June 2021 after having been appointed.

Hebert commented on his role: “Proper regulatory of the gaming sector is vital at a moment when gaming revenues continue to be an important part of our State’s economic.

“I’m both humbled by and honored that Governor Landry chose me to be the first African American Chairman of Louisiana Gaming Control Board. I pledge to carry on the work done by previous chairs in making sure that gambling is free of criminals and corrupt elements.

We will continue to be fair in our regulation to ensure that gaming licensees can operate in an atmosphere that produces a healthy amount of revenue for the State through economic development.


Nederlandse Online Gambling Associatie

The Nederlandse On-line Gambling Associatie announced that Peter Paul de Goeij will be stepping down from his position as director of the association due to plans for him to immigrate overseas.

Eric Konings was named Interim Director by NOGA. Frans Van Steenis will support him, the former CEO of Staatsloterij.

The Chair of NOGA’s board of directors, Remko De Boer said: “We thank Peter-Paul de Boer for the excellent work he did over the last five years in transforming SpeelVerantwoord into NOGA.”

As a result of this, NOGA was able to effectively represent its members’ interests in an industry that has experienced a turbulent period. This line of thinking will continue under Eric’s interim directorship. We do not expect the next period to be any less turbulent. We, the board of directors, decided to start the strategic reorientation.”

De Goeij commented on his departure by saying: “The last few years were hectic with the Dutch online gaming market opening as the absolute high point. Although I’m stepping down, I know that this sector will keep working to promote responsible and safe gaming.

It is the only way that we can ensure maximum consumer protection. “I would like to express my gratitude to the NOGA board for their trust in me during the last five years. I’m happy to pass the baton on to Eric.”

Konings said: “I look forward to helping NOGA member companies overcome the challenges that are facing them in this current social and political climate.

NOGA also orients itself explicitly on the future-proofing of industry interests. “I am pleased that Frans Van Steenis will be my scout in shaping this process.”

Van Steenis continued: “A great deal is going on in the gaming industry at this time. More clarity and improved cooperation benefit licensed providers, policymakers, and the society. “I want to see how we can build bridges between those who are involved with the gambling issue.”


New York State Gaming Facility Location Board

The New York State Gaming Commission unanimously approved Professor Vicki been‘s appointment as chair of the New York Gaming Facility Location Board. This board is responsible for overseeing the process of commercial casino sitting in the New York Metro area.

The Commission’s Chair Brian O’Dwyer said, “Professor Been’s experience is perfect for this process. I’m proud to nominate her as Chair of the Gaming Facility Location Board.”

This outstanding team performs a wonderful public service, for which we all are grateful. “We look forward to an exciting competition to award up to three licenses.”

Been has been a member of the Board since 2022. He is the Judge Edward Weinfeld professor of law at New York University School of Law. In addition, he holds the position of Affiliated Professor of Public Policy of NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and Faculty Director of NYU’s Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy.

She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Colorado State University and is a Graduate of NYU School of Law where she was also a Root-Tilden Scholar. After serving as the Commissioner of Housing Preservation and Development and the Deputy Mayor of Housing and Economic Development in the City of New York, she returned back to NYU.

Been, who has been a faculty member at NYU University since 1990, has concentrated her research on land use, housing, and urban policies. Been has worked as a clerk for both Judge Edward Weinfeld of the Southern District of New York, and Justice Harry Blackmun of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Been commented on her role: “I’m honoured to be taking on this role. I look forward to working alongside my talented colleagues at the Gaming Facility Location Board, to assess casino proposals which bring tangible and real benefits to the host community as well as the state.

My colleagues and myself are dedicated to overseeing an equitable, transparent and transformational casino site selection process.


Gemeinsamen Glucksspielbehorde der Lander

Gemeinsamen Glucksspielbehorde der Lander announced that Udo Gottze, Secretary of State in the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior and Local Government, would hand over the role of chair of the board of director to Reinermoser, the Head of the Ministry of the Interior, Digitalisation and Municipalities of Baden-Wurttemberg.

On July 1, 2024 the handover takes place, ending Gotze’s year-long term as chair.

Gotze stated: “Together, with the federal state governments, the GGL created a good foundation for successful regulation of the rapidly evolving digital market. “Everyone involved should be very proud.”

Moser said: “The regulation and control of online gambling is a difficult task, which focuses on the prevention and treatment of gambling addiction as well as the protection of minors and players. The challenges were immense and they will remain so.

This includes, for example, the implementation and enforcement of court rulings on IP blocking, as well as developments in the field of the supervision of legal providers. GGL is confident in its ability to meet these challenges. “It can be assured of continued support from the state and board.”
