Rush Street Interactive activated an agreement with Delaware Lottery for the launch of the BetRivers online sportsbook and casino platform within the state.

This follows an exclusive partnership that RSI signed with the State Lottery last August. In this deal, RSI was to provide sports betting and igaming services to the state lotteries for a period of five years.

At the discretion of the lottery, this deal may be extended by one year increments.

“We’re thrilled to launch this much anticipated and historic online sportsbook with Delaware Lottery, and to bring our award winning product to Delaware,” said Richard Schwartz. Chief Executive Officer at RSI.

Delaware’s customers will love our wide selection of games, deposit and withdrawal options, instant cash-out approvals and top-notch customer service. They can bet on sports, table and slot games, from any location in the state.

On the online casino front, BetRivers will be relaunching the Delaware Park Casino, Bally’s Dover Casino and Harrington Raceway & Casinoonline platform.

BetRivers, an online sportsbook, will also offer Delaware players wagering options for professional and college leagues, matches, and players. These include spreads and moneylines, props and futures of players, as well as same-game parlays.

The lottery is hoping to achieve greater success by partnering with its new partner.

“RSI has achieved great success in neighboring New Jersey, Pennsylvania and other states, and its overall reputation is impressive,” said Helene K. Keeley Director of Delaware Lottery.

We are excited about partnering with RSI because of their commitment to responsible gambling, high-quality products, variety and breadth in gaming content, as well as excellent customer service.

RSI viewed the winning of this contract via a RfP as a major coup. The exclusive right to provide betting and online gaming services in a small state that has a long history of gaming was seen as an enormous opportunity.

RSI’s management expressed its enthusiasm to accept the contract in its quarterly earnings call and assured investors that the state will be profitable for RSI operations within a short time.

Kyle Sauers is the CFO at Rush Street. He noted that a significant amount of marketing will be needed, but it will produce long-term benefits.

Sauers stated: “The current market size is quite small. We think that there is a good chance to grow over the years. This is not something that will happen over night.

It takes some time to start up. I wouldn’t think of it as a big obstacle in 2024, like the majority of markets. This comes with some associated costs. We’ve shown that it is similar to other North American casinos. Delaware should be profitable fairly quickly.
