The European Gaming and Betting Association welcomed the global platform for identity verification and fraud prevention Sumsub to its organisation as an Associate Member.

Sumsub’s membership in the EGBA is described as a partnership strategic that strengthens both parties’ “joint dedication to promoting a secure and safe online gambling and betting environment throughout Europe”.

Sumsub, by joining as an associate membership, will offer its expertise in identity verification to help support ID verification awareness, position and mission, including promoting KYC standards and fraud prevention.

Sumsub’s Head of iGaming Product, Kris Galloway said: “We feel honoured to be a member of EGBA and to collaborate with other industry leaders in driving innovation and compliance within Europe’s Online Gaming Sector.”

As the regulatory landscape evolves, we are committed to providing operators and platforms cutting-edge, user-specific solutions. They will be able to improve efficiency, while also ensuring transparency, security and protection.

Sumsub’s “full cycle platform”, which integrates anti-fraud, compliance and user verification solutions, helps operators streamline their onboarding process for customers, while also ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Sumsub offers operators a toolkit that allows them to secure the player’s lifecycle and mitigate fraud risk, as well as maintain regulatory standards on their platform.

We are pleased to have Sumsub join the EGBA as an Associate Member and we look forward to working with their team,” said Maarten Hajer.

The addition of the expertise they have in identity verification is extremely valuable for our association, as we work to create a sustainable and safe online gambling and gaming environment in Europe. We hope to unite industry voices by allowing companies such as Sumsub to join our association.

The EGBA has welcomed the new European Union framework for anti-money laundering, which was finalised last month. It believes that the rules standardised and the reporting requirements will be beneficial to online gambling operators.
