The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) is issuing a hefty fine to a Philadelphia casino.
The PGCB has approved a consent agreement from its Office of Enforcement Counsel to fine Stadium Casino RE LLC, the operator of Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia, $50,000 for allowing four patrons to gamble at the facility despite being on the board’s exclusion list. The PGCB determined that Live! Casino failed to adhere to the regulator’s standards by identifying patrons on the exclusion list and preventing them from wagering.
In addition to penalizing Live! Casino, the PGCB has added five patrons to its iGaming Involuntary Exclusion List due to fraud violations. The violations included two patrons creating 20 separate online iGaming accounts through an operator despite only being allowed to hold a single account. Another violation was discovered after two individuals illegally requested and received chargebacks to credit cards totaling more than $30,000.
The new group of patrons on the iGaming exclusion list brings its total to 47 individuals.
The PGCB has also banned two female patrons from all casinos across the Keystone State for leaving minors unattended while on casino properties on two separate occasions.
Pennsylvania casino familiar with fines
Live! Casino has received its latest fine by the PGCB after being penalized earlier this year.
In June, the PGCB fined Live! Casino $100,000 for accepting nearly $300,000 worth of proxy wagers by phone. The regulator fined the casino after a probe that involved several staff members who placed 15 wagers from a patron over an eight-day period despite the individual not being physically present at the casino, a violation of state gaming laws.
The wagers placed by staff totaled $287,421. As a result of their actions, the Live! Casino employees were terminated and had their gaming employment licenses revoked.
