Flutter UK & Ireland launched a contest to find a partner for a gaming startup that focuses on women.

Sky Betting and Gaming (Paddy Power, Betfair and Sky Betting) will be the partners of the winning company.

Flutter launched the competition through its Alpha Hub program, which allows Flutter brands to work with startups. The application period is now open until 15 March 2024.

In order to win, the startup must submit ideas for products that are appealing to women’s gambling habits. Flutter gave the example of social and community games in its proposal. There is also a “wildcard” option where startups may submit ideas which do not align exactly with the competition brief.

It will also be possible to form a commercial relationship with Flutter. The chosen startup will have an opportunity to establish a business relationship with Flutter.

Steve Birch is the chief commercial officer of Sky Betting and Gaming. He said, “We think this is a great opportunity and are looking forward to partnering up with startups to take advantage of this.”

After the launch of NYSE, a competition announcement will be made

Flutter was launched at the New York Stock Exchange on 29 January. Flutter began trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under FLUT ticker code. The launch occurred 29 January.

Flutter had stated in December that it would list its shares at the NYSE on 29 January 2024. Flutter left Euronext Dublin before the listing.

Ed Birkin is a senior analyst with H2 Gambling Capital. He told iGB that this move was logical for Flutter. It will be attracting investors.

Birkin noted that “While Flutter may not be a pure-play online investment in the US, its exposure to this market is significant and likely to attract investors.”
