VSiN’s betting programming is returning to SiriusXM after more than four years away.
Starting Jan. 6, the two companies will collaborate on a new exclusive nightly show on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio channel. VSiN Live on Mad Dog Sports Radio is hosted by Patrick Meagher and Dustin Swedelson and delivers sports talk and wagering-focused content to listeners while games are in progress.
That serves a prelude to a dedicated VSiN channel launching on the subscription service on Jan. 17. The channel will be available to listeners across North America on the SiriusXM radios in their cars and on the SiriusXM app.
VSiN President and Chief Business Officer Brian Musburger said in a release that distribution on SiriusXM “is a critical component of our expansion strategy and helps solidify VSiN’s position as the nation’s largest sports betting network.”
“The demand for sports wagering content continues to grow and VSiN is a leader in this space,” added SiriusXM VP of Sports Programming Eric Spitz.
VSiN provides news, analysis and insights for bettors and fantasy sports enthusiasts, with 18+ hours of live linear sports content each day featuring sports betting and fantasy experts. Its content previously aired on SiriusXM from 2017 to 2020. The network’s content is also accessible via a range of multimedia platforms including YouTube TV, Rogers’ Sportsnet in Canada, NESN, Marquee Sports Network, iHeartRadio, more than 300 U.S. terrestrial radio stations and VSiN.com.
VSIN previously launched new app after DraftKings buyback
The deal to return to SiriusXM’s lineup comes six months after Musburger Media purchased VSiN from DraftKings, thereby returning the company to its original founders Musburger and Bill Adee.
Musburger and Adee sold the brand to DraftKings in 2021 in a roughly $70 million deal that both companies projected would enhance DraftKings’ content capabilities and boost VSiN’s audience. VSiN’s leadership continued to run the brand day-to-day from Vegas. Terms of the buyback were not disclosed at the time.
Just over two months ago, VSiN broadened its reach even further by launching the new VSiN Watch mobile app that provides users with up-to-date news via audio and video feeds.
