Flutter Entertainment’s Sisal and PokerStars brands have sealed an agreement with Italy’s Casinò di Campione spa – Società Benefit to run poker events at the casino following a tender issued last autumn.

Through the partnership, Sisal and PokerStars will set up an “always on” poker room and run live poker tournaments at the Casinò di Campione, which is situated in the Italian province of Como near Lake Lugano.

“We look forward to kicking off the partnership with Campione and offering the best poker experience to our passionate Italian audience,” commented Cedric Billot, Director, Live Event Operations at PokerStars.

“We are extremely proud to be announcing this agreement, having worked hard to get here, but this is just the beginning of an important chapter for the PokerStars brand in Italy. We will work together with the local Sisal team to make this a successful partnership and offer an epic ‘experience’.”

Running for an initial four years, the partnership between Sisal, PokerStars and Casinò di Campione can be extended for an additional three years.

More details will be announced once the poker room officially opens, with the first live events to be revealed in the coming months.

Mario Venditti, Chairman of Casinò di Campione spa – Società Benefit, added: “With the poker tournaments, Casinò di Campione starts again with the competitive events that qualify its offer, enlivening the calendar of one of Europe’s most important gaming houses.

“This is a further step forward in the development of the company’s activity, which will undoubtedly increase its visibility.”
