Gauselmann Group is a leading player in German gaming industry. It has completed its rebranding and officially changed to Merkur Group.

Gauselmann will be renamed Merkur AG, the group’s umbrella entity. The renaming was completed on January 1, 2020, with all the updates to the Commercial Register.

The ownership structure of the business unit remains unchanged despite its name change. The unit, which was established in 1980 as a holding firm that provided essential services to Gauselmann owned companies, has remained unchanged.

Gauselmann Group Founder, Paul Gauselmann mentioned:

The company is undergoing a notable shift towards greater digitization and internationalization. The decision to change the name reflects this evolution. Both transformations will gain benefits from aligning our Merkur name with its allure. Our company values still place a high value on consistency and stability. These will remain essential to the success of our business in the future.

The company has reached a major milestone in its history 67 years since Gauselmann’s founding and 50 years exactly after Merkur was introduced in 1970.
