Christine McCarthy, former Disney CFO joins Flutter Board

Christine McCarthy, former CFO of Disney, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Flutter Entertainment.

McCarthy was Disney’s Chief Financial Officer from June 2015 to June 2023 and then served as its strategic advisor from July 2023 until June 2024. McCarthy announced that she would be stepping down from Disney in June 2023. She cited a medical leave for her family as the cause.

Flutter Entertainment is the owner of several brands including FanDuel and Paddy Power. It also owns Sky Betting & Gaming (Sisal), Sportsbet, Sisal Sportsbetting, PokerStars. McCarthy was a close collaborator with Bob Iger as well as Bob Chapek during her time at Disney. McCarthy supported numerous initiatives including the cost-cutting measure under Chapek that attracted attention when Iger was second in charge.

Since 2019, she has served as a director on the Procter & Gamble board, where she is the chair of the audit committee. She is also a director of FM Global, where she chairs the finance committee.

McCarthy joins the Audit Committee of Flutter Entertainment’s Board on 30 July.

Flutter Entertainment also announced the appointment of Robert Bennett, a former Warner Bros. director. Discovery has been appointed to the board of Flutter Entertainment. Bennett joins Flutter’s sustainability and risk committee.
