Bally Bet has launched its 7th state, Massachusetts on Tuesday (the 2nd of July). Bally Bet joins other six national sports betting platforms that are available in Massachusetts.

Bally Bet is the 7th live operator to launch in Massachusetts. At one time, the state had eight live platforms. However, Betr and WynnBet left earlier this year. The remaining platforms were BetMGM Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook DraftKings ESPN Bet Fanatics Sportsbook FanDuel.

Massachusetts allows a maximum 17 platforms. Operators may partner with horse racing tracks or casinos, or they can apply for an independent mobile license. BetMGM and ESPN Bet are tied to casino properties. WynnBet used to be tethered with Encore Boston Harbour, but this licence has been withdrawn since WynnBet shut down.

Bally Bet is among the first digital betting platforms in Massachusetts to receive a license. It was decided that the company would not be participating in the launch of the 10th March 2023. The company renewed its temporary license earlier this year.

Bally Bet is “super-excited” about entering Massachusetts

In a meeting held in public on Monday, 1 July 2013, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission unanimously voted to approve Bally’s operation certificate.

Bally’s Chief Operating Officer Brett Calapp stated Monday that the company was “super excited” to move into Massachusetts. The state has a long and rich sporting history. Sports are a part of everyday life in Massachusetts.

Launched just weeks after Boston Celtics’ 18th NBA Championship and during the baseball season, the launch is timely. Red Sox are currently third in American League East’s fiercely competitive division. They will play a series this weekend against New York, before heading home for two home games before All-Star Break.
