ESPN Bet is expanding its reach through rebranding a group of retail sportsbooks.
The sports betting operator and PENN Entertainment announced on Thursday the rebranding of 10 brick-and-mortar sportsbooks at PENN properties across the country.
PENN will rebrand the retail operations at its select properties as ESPN Bet Sportsbook with locations opening in H1 2025 pending regulatory approvals. The properties that will rebrand all operate under PENN’s Hollywood Gaming and Ameristar Casino brands.
Ohio will see its Hollywood Gaming locations at Dayton Raceway and Mahoning Valley Race Course undergo the rebrand while three Hollywood Casinos in Pennsylvania will also house an ESPN Bet Sportsbook. Indiana will see its Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg and Ameristar Casino in East Chicago make the transition. Hollywood Casino and Ameristar properties in Colorado, Iowa and West Virginia will also rebrand.
The new properties bring ESPN Bet’s total retail locations to 19. The operator, which launched in November 2023 as a rebrand of Barstool Sportsbook, also operates brick-and-mortar sportsbooks across Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan and Ohio.
ESPN Bet makes upgrade to online services
The new ESPN Bet retail locations follow an improvement in online operations.
ESPN Bet recently upgraded its website and app to allow bettors to link their ESPN and ESPN Bet accounts. The linking allows users to track their action witin the ESPN app.
The enhancement also allows bettors to track their wagers on ESPN.com. PENN spearheaded the improvements by hiring Chief Technology Officer and Disney veteran Aaron Laberge to specifically upgrade integrations across ESPN Bet and ESPN.
