Rhode Island Credit Limit Potentially Doubling

On Thursday (6 June), the Rhode Island senate voted to increase the outstanding credit per player to $100,000 (PS78,697/EUR92,973). This bill is expected to be reviewed by the house this week.

With a vote 28-5, the amended bill was passed to increase the $50,000 limit that had been in effect since 2014.

Igaming was launched in Rhode Island on March 1. Bally’s Corporation has an igaming monopoly in Rhode Island after state legislators approved a contract with IGT for 20 years.

Frank Ciccone III, Senate President Dominick Rudgeriano and Senator Frank Ciccone III introduced the bill. According to the bill text, the goal of increasing credits is “to increase Rhode Island’s competition in the gaming sector”.

The bill also faces opposition. According to the Rhode Island Current newspaper, Sam Bell, a senator who opposed the proposal, stated: “We shouldn’t maximize profit in the case of an addictive substance.”

William Hill will replace Cinch as the sponsor of the SFL

William Hill is the new sponsor for the Scottish Professional Football League. The company will be the main sponsor for the four top divisions of Scottish football.

From the beginning of 2024-25, the operator will become an official partner in the SPFL. This deal is described as a “record breaking” one and it will run for five years.

Neil Doncaster is the chief executive of SPFL Group. He called this sponsorship “tremendous”.

Doncaster stated that “everyone in the SPFL looks forward to working together with William Hill to help promote the passion and drama of the SPFL and its 42 teams over the next five years,”


Caesars releases Social Responsibility Report

Caesars Entertainment’s 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility Report was released on Thursday, June 6, 2018.

Four areas were highlighted in the report. Caesars, for example, implemented a 46.2% reduction in greenhouse gases by 2030. The company achieved its emission reduction target three years earlier than expected in 2022.

Caesars has praised its efforts in diversity, inclusion, and equity, along with its investment into the community. Caesars also highlighted their achievements of increasing support for team members to “stimulate professional and self-development”.


Parker named Mohegan’s Chief Strategy Officer

Nelson Parker is the new Chief Strategy Officer at Mohegan. Parker will be responsible for identifying, assessing and executing new Mohegan growth ventures and opportunities.

Parker was promoted to senior vice president of strategic development at Mohegan. He will assume this role on April 20, 2022, having served previously as managing director for hotel investment company Driftwood.

Parker worked at Hard Rock International and Penn National Gaming before joining Mohegan.
