Evolution is facing its second fine in the last six months by Pennsylvania’s gaming regulator.
The B2B casino solution provider has been fined $25,000 by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) for failing to save surveillance video at a live dealer studio over a two-day period. Evolution, which operates a studio in Philadelphia, failed to save the required footage due to a power outage resulting in a computer server interruption.
Pennsylvania’s Gaming Act requires studios to collect and save all surveillance video.
The fine was approved by the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel on Wednesday adding to a recent violation for allowing an unwanted trespasser at a live dealer studio.
Evolution hit with fine over security mishap
In August, the PGCB levied a $7,500 fine to Evolution following an incident in 2023 where a man managed to bypass several security checkpoints to enter its Philadelphia-based studio.
The man, who was never identified and apprehended, made his way into Evolution’s studio and began to “inappropriately touch himself” and make disparaging comments. Evolution staffers notified security of the intruder and called the police but failed to identify him.
Evolution was fined by the PGCB for its failure to stop the man using its existing security protocols violating the board’s regulations. Per PGCB regulations, all visitors at live dealer studios are expected to sign in, obtain and wear a name badge while on the premises.
As a result of its violation, Evolution revised the layout of the brick-and-mortar studio.
