DraftKings bettors were left out in the cold on Thursday as the operator’s sportsbook platform suffered a widespread outage across all of its jurisdictions that lasted several hours.

From early in the morning until around 2 p.m. Eastern Time, sportsbook users were greeted by an error message when they logged in to try to place bets or take other actions with their account.

DraftKings displayed a banner in its sportsbook app acknowledging the issue and assuring users that the company was working to solve the problem.

The operator’s customer support account posted a tweet at 8:29 a.m. ET in which it stated that, “We are aware that customers may be experiencing issues with certain features on our Sportsbook. This is currently affecting players in all jurisdictions. We are working on resolving this as quickly as possible.”

On a day that will hold two ALCS games in the MLB playoffs, as well as the start of the WNBA Finals, a Thursday Night Football NFL clash between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks, several NHL games and college football, it left customers venting their frustrations on social media. Multiple users posted on X that they would be switching over to a competing sportsbook to place their wagers due to their lack of access.

As of the time of writing this article, the outage had just been restored.

The CX account posted on X at 2:13 p.m. ET, nearly six hours after its original tweet acknowledging the issue, that “sportsbook functionality has been fully restored. Thanks for sticking with us!”
