Cell phones have become a vital part of our society as roughly 97% of Americans own a mobile device of some kind, according to data provided by the Pew Research Center.

The popularity and technological advances of cell phones have turned the devices from a method of communication into a resource for information at the touch of a finger.

In Cut the App! SBC Americas speaks with leaders in the gaming industry about how they leverage their cell phones to conduct business but also provide a source of entertainment.

The Unit CCO Adam Noble provided SBC with insights into his daily cell phone usage.

First phone model?
Motorola, from a Google search just now, had to be something like a MB300. It had expensive calls and poor reception but that didn’t matter as the battery lasted about 12 minutes.

Android or iPhone?
Android but no real winner. It’s just what I’m used to now. I’ve had both over time and I’d say once you’ve had either for a week or so you would barely notice the difference.

Most overused app on your phone?
Australian Football League. I live in Sweden and need my fix of Aussie Rules and no matter how many times I open it this week my team, Collingwood, still aren’t in the finals.

App you cannot live without?
The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute weather app. Due to living in Sweden, I need to understand just how cold or wet I’m going to be.

Current phone model?
Samsung Galaxy Ultra Note S22. It’s an all-around great phone with a pen for finer details plus a great screen and battery. You can almost complete a full day of work from the device if needed.

Most underrated app?
Calendar. So simple, yet so important!

App you are most embarrassed to have?
RyanAir, but they’re a necessary evil sometimes.

Which app needs inventing?
A cross-platform communication app. An app that feeds all messages from Slack, Google Chat, Microsoft Teams, Skype and WhatsApp into one place and where its easily managed.

What power percentage is your phone on right now?
83%, even if my phone was at 2% it would still beat the Motorola for battery life.

Home screen image?
My kids Oscar and Matilda from a summer trip to Australia!
