Entain has teamed up with Playtech to create a live gameshow based on the long-running British TV quiz show The Chase.

Exclusively through Entain, Playtech’s Riga studio hosts the live game, which is accessible to all players 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This new version of the game includes a board for plinko and two bonuses. This is because unlike on television, the players don’t need to answer questions about general knowledge to win.

The Chase, which was first broadcast on ITV in 2009 and has been a hit ever since, regularly draws millions of viewers to its ITV daytime slots. It is broadcasted in Australia, New Zealand and other countries.

Entain’s customers can play the game in Canada, Ontario, Belgium, UK and Brazil. Soon, The Chase will be available to South Africa and Italy.

The Chase’s first month of launch generated revenue three times higher than previous launches at the top tier for other plinko-style games.

Graciella Antony, global director of table and live games at Entain said: “We strive to produce innovative content which stands out among the ever-growing live gameshow genre.” As the statistics show, the game has been very popular with customers all over the world. “We expect that the impressive growth of this game will continue.”

The Chase and Entain launch The Chase together

Playtech, Entain and ITV Studios developed the game together. Steve Watling is senior vice president at ITV Studios Global Partnerships. He said that it was the most-anticipated game release of this year.

Watling stated, “We’ve been working closely with Entain and Playtech over many months to bring one of UK’s biggest and most popular gameshow brands into the live casino market.”

The Chase has been transformed into a unique and engaging live game that includes the plinko, Head to Head, and Final Chase Bonus Games. “We are thrilled to see this game succeed exclusively within Entain’s portfolio.”

Kevin Kilminster is chief innovation officer for Playtech. He added that this new gameshow was the first Plunko Live game created by Playtech with two bonus rounds unique to it, simulating the popular original game show.

This joint project is testament to the strong partnership we have with Entain. “We remain committed to support them, and create new and unique content.”

Demand for Live Gaming

This is the latest launch in the arena of live gaming. MGM Resorts teamed up with Playtech to offer a Live Casino last month. The MGM Grand in Las Vegas and the Bellagio are streaming this directly.

MGM Live includes single- and double zero roulette, baccarat and more. These games will initially be available for operators on regulated markets in countries outside the US.

Playtech’s COO Shimon Akad said to iGB last month that Mexico and UK would be the first target markets for MGM Live. Additional regulated markets are expected to follow.

Akad said that there were plans to expand the portfolio. The exclusive Las Vegas access will include Playtech’s games and TV shows, as well as celebrity hosted trivia games.
