Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has fined Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino Racetrack $35,000 for accepting underage gamblers.
PGCB stated that individuals under 21 years old were allowed to gamble on the casino floor. Chester Downs and Marina was fined $35,000.
SportsHub was also fined $13,000 by the PGCB. It was determined that the licensed fantasy contest operator had changed its control without PGSB’s approval.
PGCB has also issued bans for those who have been found guilty of leaving children alone in casinos. The state adds those found guilty to its Involuntary exclusion list.
Two employees from Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack left a 14-month-old child unattended in a car in the parking lot. They left the 14 month old unattended in order to go into the dealer’s school and the human resources department of the casino.
A male customer was also placed on the list after leaving a 2-year-old child unattended inside a car at Valley Forge Casino Resort. When the person tried to enter the casino, but was unsuccessful, he left the child alone for about two minutes.
A second player has been added to this list after leaving two children aged 6 and 11 in a car at Rivers Casino Philadelphia. The children were left in a vehicle for 6 minutes, while the player visited a cage at the cashier.
A second male gambler also left unattended children in a car at the same gambling establishment while he played at the sportsbook. Children aged between three and thirteen were left unattended in a vehicle for seven minutes.
A male player has been added to the list after leaving two kids in an automobile at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. Two children aged 5 and 9 were left in the vehicle for nine minutes, while the male player played at the sportsbook.
The PGCB identified 370 instances of parents leaving their children alone to gamble in casinos between the beginning of 2022 and May 2023.
