Nevada’s gambling revenues reach $1.29bn by May

The gambling revenue in Nevada in May was $1.29 billion, which is a small decline from the year before but an increase month on month of 11.2%.

The state’s revenue was 1.16 billion dollars higher than the amount generated in April of this year, but 0.8% less than the estimated $1.30 billion in May 2022.

The primary revenue source for operators was slots, which generated $877.9m in revenue. This is an increase of 0.9% on the previous year. This total was made up of $501.3m in multi-denomination slot machines, while penny slots generated $285.9m.

The revenue from card, table and counter games fell 4.4%, to $411.2m. This decline was seen across all types of gambling.

Baccarat generated the highest revenue of $133.8 million, but this was only 0.5% less than last year. The blackjack revenue dropped 2.7% to $104.8m. Craps revenue decreased 19.4% to $35.4m. And roulette revenue also fell 10.9% to $30.3m.

The revenue for sports betting, reported under table, counter, and card games, grew 11.4%, to PS30.1m.

Basketball was second with $11.9m, followed by baseball at 16.5%. Other sports brought in $4.9m and hockey $328,000.

Parlay cards led to an operating loss of $10,000, but football bets resulted in $3.6 million.

Clark County (which includes Las Vegas) generated revenue of $1.12 billion, while the Las Vegas Strip brought in $716.0 million.
