Nevada gambling revenue exceeds $1.3bn in October

The gambling revenue in Nevada increased by 3.1% on an annual basis to $1.32bn in October (PS1.04bn/EUR1.21bn), mainly due to growth in multi-denomination slot machines, baccarat, and sports pools betting.

The revenue was 3.9% higher than the $1.27bn that Nevada generated in September of this year and ahead of $1.28bn by October 2022. This was the highest October revenue in Nevada’s history.

In October, slot machines generated $894.9m of revenue. It was a 2.0% increase over the same period last year.

The highest source of revenue was multi-denomination slot machines, with $527.8m in the last month. This is an increase of 16.3%. In fact, all slot games, except penny slots, reported revenue declines.

Nevada continues to grow in Baccarat

Nevada Gaming Control Board figures show that table, counter and cards games revenue increased 4.2% in the last quarter to $420.3m. The growth in the baccarat sector, which saw revenue jump 35.3% from $89.8m to $420.3m, was a major contributor.

Blackjack (also known as 21) was the primary source of revenue for table games, counters and card games. The revenue generated by these games fell 12.6% to $114.1m.

Roulette revenue increased by 4.2% and Craps revenues by 8.2%. In October, Ultimate Texas Hold’em revenues fell 13.9% and reached $13.5m. Three-card poker’s revenue dropped 5.6% in the same month to $10m.

NFL wagering drives up sports pool revenues by 19.8%

In Nevada, sports pool betting also falls under the segment of table games and counter-based card games. Revenue was up 19.8% year-on-year to $61.1m.

In October, sports pools generated $48.3m from football betting. Baseball betting accounted for $9.5m, basketball $3.2m and ice hockey $2.2m. Parlay cards accounted for another $1.5m, and $3.5m of the total was from other sports.

Nevada Gaming Control Board noted that $35.1m in revenue from sports pools was generated by mobile bets.

Las Vegas Strip Revenue Hits $714 Million in October

In October, the Las Vegas Strip generated 54.3% all Nevada gambling revenues. The total for October was 1,2% higher than the same period in 2022.

The revenue from strip slots fell 1.1%, to $4006.0m. However, revenue generated by table games and counters rose 4.4% to 308.5m. This included $89,8m of baccarat and $87.3m for 21.

The Strip’s sports pool revenues grew 27.9%, to $26,9m. Of that amount, $10.8m came from mobile gambling.
