Intralot announced that Nikolaos Nikolakopoulos has been appointed as the chief executive officer of Intralot Inc. in the US.
Nikolakopoulos, based in Atlanta, Georgia will be responsible for US operations and growth strategies in the United States.
Nikolakopoulos assumes the position after serving as the deputy CEO for the core Intralot Business and its Board since 2019. In 2007, he joined Intralot and has held several senior positions within the group including group chief operational officer and chief commercial officer.
Before this, he held management and director positions with SingularLogic and Bull Consulting.
Nikolakopoulos succeeds Byron Boothe, who will continue to serve on the board of directors of Intralot Inc. and as a management advisor. Boothe remains a member of Intralot Inc.’s subsidiary.
The board is now made up of 14 members, including Sokratis Kokokalis, chairman and CEO, and Constantinos Antonopoulos as vice-chairman.
This new appointment follows Intralot’s announcement in December of plans to expand online, particularly to the US. The company had enjoyed a successful nine-month run up to September of last year.
Intralot offers sports betting online in Washington DC and provides the technology to DC Lottery Gambet. Gambet is still a long way behind market leader Caesars.
