Genius Sportshas received a license for sports gambling supplier from the Ohio Casino Control Commission , as Ohio prepares to open its first sports betting market in January 1.
Genius is expanding its tech and sports products into another US state. It has received regulatory approval from the Buckeye State. This market is anticipated to become a significant one in North America.
Ohio will allow legal sports betting to begin as soon as midnight falls on New Year’s Day. Genius is available to work with operators in order to share its sports data and technology.
The NYSE-listed company now has 39 operating licenses in North America starting with the US or Canada. There are also licenses available for states, territories, and tribes throughout the region.
“We are humbled that Ohio awarded Genius Sports its license as a sports gambling supplier to allow licensed sportsbooks in the Buckeye State to access our innovative NFL products and marketing services,” said Mark Locke CEO of Genius Sports.
Genius Sports is pleased to be able to offer sports enthusiasts in Ohio official data-driven solutions for their betting sites, as a majority of US states have legalized sports betting.
The firm recently launched its Watch & Bet service to multiple operators. This allows you to watch sporting events in real time and also place wagers from the same app.
Genius also has enjoyed considerable success recently, with improved profitability in the US for Q3.
The adjusted EBITDA for the group was $7.7m. This is a significant improvement over the $0.4m loss in Q321. It was largely due to the revenue growth and cost control.
