England’s FA confirmed that Premier League striker Ivan Toney was charged with violating 30 of Rule E8.
A Brentford FC forward is facing a misconduct charge for placing bets while he was an active football player. This violation of the rule is strictly forbidden.
The first reports of Toney’s allegations were made in November. After that, the player said that he would be assisting the FA with its inquiries.
The FA then accused him of violating betting regulations 223 times, between 25 February 2017 & 23 January 2022. He is now being accused by the FA of 30 more violations between 13 and 18 March 2017.
Toney is facing 30 allegations. None of these bets were made while he was playing in the Premier League. He played during that period for Scunthorpe United and Wigan Athletic.
The FA prohibits all players of the Premier League and EFL Championship League One and League Two from placing bets on the game.
Toney may be banned from professional football or face suspension and/or a fine.
Kieran Tripper, England’s Newcastle Defender was fined PS70,000 and a 10-week suspension by the FA after he encouraged friends to place bets on his move to Atletico Madrid.
