The Coalition’s original member list included Bally’s and BetMGM, DraftKings and Entain. Entain, FanDuel and MGM Resorts International. They are now joined by the new trio. In September 2022, the Coalition was formed. It introduced 12 responsible gaming principles that all members agree to follow.
Three new members join the Coalition
PointsBet, Hard Rock Digital and Fanatics all spoke out about the importance responsible gambling and how they joined the Responsible Gambling Coalition. The Ontario-based Responsible Gambling Council (RGC), an established non-profit dedicated to problem gambling, also awarded the Coalition RGCheck accreditation.
Anthony D’Angelo, senior manager of responsible gambling for Fanatics Betting & Gaming expressed his pride at Fanatics’ entry into the Coalition.
We adhere to the 12 responsible gaming principles. We also provide our fans with tools and resources that allow them to enjoy our products.
Anthony D’Angelo is the senior manager for responsible gaming at Fanatics Gaming & Betting
Danny Crook is the senior vice president for operations at Hard Rock Digital. Rachel Kasper, the senior vice president for legal and compliance at PointsBet US echoed this sentiment in a PR release. As members of the Responsible Gambling Coalition, all three companies expressed their commitment to safer gambling practices.
The Sustainability Trend Continues
These 12 principles are a guideline for companies on what they should do. The Coalition members share the same commitment to the creation of a national, unified responsible gaming helpline. They are also partnering with the National Council on Problem Gambling to serve as advisory board members and donors.
PointsBet USA, PointsBet Canada were recently awarded RGC accreditation. This is an obvious continuation of international responsible gambling commitments. RG Check is widely considered an international standard for responsible gambling practices and many companies aspire towards this accreditation program.
Fanatics is also improving its sustainability and following best gaming practices in this year’s financial year. Fanatics has also continued to partner with the Coalition. In January, Fanatics signed a deal with IBIA (the International Betting Integrity Association) towards the end. IBIA is highly respected in the global regulated gambling industry.
Hard Rock International and WWF have renewed their partnership last week, which is another positive initiative. It’s called Earth Hour. Hard Rock properties “went black” for one hour on March 25, bringing back Hard Rock’s “Save the Planet” motto. This is one of the four founding mottos of Hard Rock. Its purpose is to increase awareness about climate change.
