Gaming operator 888 William Hill has named Phil Walker its new managing director in the UK and Ireland. This appointment is effective immediately.
Walker assumes the role, having served previously as UK managing director for William Hill. He continues in this role after 888 purchased William Hill’s non US assets last July.
This expanded role now includes the expanded UK and Irish operations at 888 William Hill.
Walker joined William Hill as an online managing director in January 2019, before taking over the UK-facing MD role with the operator in September 2020.
Walker served as the Gibraltar Stock Exchange’s group chief operating officer. Walker also worked for Ladbrokes Coral Group for more than two-and-a half years, beginning his career as chief marketing officer and then moving on to become managing director of brands.
Walker worked earlier in his career and before the Ladbrokes/Coral merger. He was a marketing and customer operations director at Gala Interactive and a managing director for remote gaming.
Walker also worked in various senior positions at DSG International, B&Q and Littlewoods.
Walker stated, “I’m pleased to share that I am starting a new role as UK and Ireland managing directors at 888 William Hill.”
This appointment follows 888’s warning earlier this month that it expects to see a 3% decrease in revenue year-on-year for its 2022 financial years. Partly due to the increased UK safer gambling laws.
Yariv Dafna, the operator’s chief financial officer, was also announced.
