Paris Smith, a long-serving Pinnacle Sports chief executive, has taken on a new advisory position with the operator.
Smith was CEO for nearly 17 years after he first took the position in August 2006
Smith, in a blog post on her LinkedIn page said that she will now transition from the “intense”, day-to-day demands of being CEO to an advisory role.
Smith stated, “I’m excited about this new challenge because it will allow me explore new opportunities and projects with [Pinnacle Owner] Magnus Hedman while remaining close to Pinnacle’s strategy and support.”
“During my tenure at Pinnacle the company has grown both in scope and size. We have often seen opportunities to become a market leader. I will always be passionate about the industry and its people.
“I focused my efforts on building a diverse, experienced management team at Pinnacle. This allows me to enter this next phase of career confident that Pinnacle will be in good hands.
“I hope that I have left a lasting impression during my tenure as Pinnacle CEO. I have always stated it was an honor to be able to lead an organisation and brand of such incredible quality.”
Smith confirmed in her post that Pinnacle had already begun a search for a replacement.
Smith stated, “This is a very exciting time. I am so grateful to the Pinnacle team who have become my friends and family.” The culture at Pinnacle is one of many things that make it a special business.
Thank you to all who have made my life so special, not just the past 17 years with Pinnacle, but also the 11 years before that in this wonderful industry. “I’m forever humbled and grateful.”
