Stephen Fisk, former chief operating officer of Microgaming, will take over from Andrew Clucas as the new chief executive officer with “immediate” effect.
Fisk joined Microgaming as director of Sportsbook in October 2016. He was responsible for growing and developing the company’s sports betting offerings.
The former PokerStars Director of Operations left Microgaming to join Apricot Investments in 2018 as Chief Operating Officer, where Microgaming stated that he “continued to work closely with Microgaming’s team to enhance Microgaming’s platform systems and services.”
Microgaming stated that Fisk was “well-equipped” to lead Microgaming due to his prior experience in the company. He is familiar with its products, clients, business and people.
Fisk’s 24-year-long career included senior positions at several global gaming companies.
Microgaming stated that after Fisk’s appointment the company is now ready to “take further strides” in its platform systems, services, sports betting, licensing, and regulatory compliance.
New Strategic Direction
Fisk was “thrilled and delighted” to be in his new position.
Fisk said, “Our team is the best in the industry. Our technology is the most advanced and our experience unmatched.” This provides us with a solid foundation to continue moving forward and achieve greater things for Microgaming.
Andrew’s strategic guidance has been vital to the success of Microgaming, and I am grateful for his contributions. He has created a culture of innovation, while still maintaining unity and integrity within Microgaming. This is something I plan to continue.
Clucas will take on new challenges in the industry, Microgaming announced.
Clucas said, “It’s been an honor to work at Microgaming for the last 14 years, and particularly in the recent years as the organization has opened up the next chapter of their incredible story.”
I have worked closely with Stephen, and there is no one more qualified for the position than him. I know that Microgaming is in good hands, and I have no doubts about the future of Stephen and his team.
