Catena Media, an affiliate group, has named Erik Edeen interim chief financial officers with effect from the 22nd of May.
Edeen succeeds Peter Messner. Catena announced in February that Messner would step aside to pursue a new career outside the sports betting industry and casino.
Messner will leave the company in early June, after a period of handover.
Edeen brings with him 16 years of experience in financial management, including roles at ICA Gruppen AB (private company) and Investor AB (public company).
Edeen was also interim CFO at Catena prior to Messner taking on the full-time role.
Michael Daly, Catena Media’s chief executive officer, said: “I am excited to welcome Erik as interim CFO.” His long career in the industry and his experience at Catena Media make him an invaluable member of our executive management team.
Catena announced last month a long-term agreement with newspaper publisher Lee Enterprises for the provision of online sports betting content and casino content.
For three years, the affiliate will be Lee Enterprises’ exclusive partner in online casino games and sports betting.
Catena will also work with Frontpagebets.com, a betting brand owned by Lee Enterprises. They will publish editorial and advertising content that is supported via the social media channels of the US publisher.
