Churchill Downs, Catena and other companies welcome their new vice presidents

iGB brings you the most recent appointments to the gaming industry. Churchill Downs Incorporated and Catena Media have both welcomed new vice presidents.

Sam Ullrich has joined Churchill Downs in the position of its vice president of investor relations. Jasleen KALS is now taking over as vice-president for product at Catena Media.

Ullrich, who has worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken for nine years, is new to CDI. He held senior positions such as director for financial planning and in restaurant economics. He was also interim chief financial officers.

Ullrich worked as a senior analyst for external reporting in Yum! KFC’s parent company, Brands. In addition, he had a spell as assurance senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers

Ullrich’s new position at CDI will see him reporting directly to Marcia Dall, executive vice president and chief financial Officer.

Catena greets former TMZ Executive

Catena stated that Kals’ appointment is a significant step in the company’s transition towards a model of operation based on products.

Kals worked previously at US media company TMZ. She spent more than a year here as the executive director for digital product strategy and development.

Kals has also worked as a senior product manager for Searchmetrics and a product manager for websites at QuinStreet. She has also worked as a senior product manager with Searchmetrics, and a product manager of websites for QuinStreet.

Catena Media’s interim CEO Pierre Cadena welcomed the appointment and praised Kals for his experience creating products.

Cadena stated that “her knowledge, leadership, and drive will play a key role in the implementation of our new operating model focusing on products across the organization.”

The model is designed to prioritise development of the best performing products, and provide superior experiences for users as we prepare the company to achieve sustainable growth over the long term. Jasleen is responsible for the growth and evolution of Catena Media’s outstanding portfolio of assets and brands. This will enable us to unleash their full potential.

Cadena has temporarily taken over Catena Media after Michael Daly, the CEO of Catena Media, resigned in February.
