After a soft launch, FanDuel, North America’s premier online gambling company, has announced that customers will now be able to access parimutuel betting on horse racing as well as traditional sportsbook wagering from one account. FanDuel Sportsbook is now the only US online casino to provide this service. FanDuel continues to invest in its customers and introduce horse racing to new audiences.
FanDuel TV will allow users to stream and wager on racing coverage. FanDuel Sportsbook customers can now wager on the Kentucky Derby through the integrated platform for 2023.
Before this innovation, customers of sportsbooks had to create separate accounts and keep separate wallets for parimutuel betting on horse racing at FanDuel Racing, TVG.com, or other online gambling sites. FanDuel customers are currently able to use the merged wallet/single-account feature in New York and Illinois. FanDuel intends to extend it to other states in the early part of next year.
Amy Howe, CEO of FanDuel Group stated that horse racing was a major part of her family’s DNA. This is an excellent opportunity to bring the sport to a wider, more engaged audience in familiar surroundings.
Flutter Entertainment is the parent company of FanDuel Group and horse racing is very popular. It has sportsbooks across Australia and the United Kingdom.
FanDuel TV was launched earlier this year by the FanDuel. This rebranded its TVG network that focuses almost entirely on horse racing and added more sports and betting content. These included “Up & Adams” which featured Kay Adams and Michele Beadle, “Run It Back”, Lisa Kerney and Shams Charania. FanDuel TV broadcasts races from Churchill Downs and Santa Anita as well as Del Mar and Keeneland and Gulfstream Park, among other important US and international venues.
