After the unveiling of Queen Baton Rouge, last week, Louisiana can now proudly claim to have a land-based gambling establishment.
The Queen Baton Rouge, which is located at the former Hollywood casino Baton Rouge, is a new land-based casino that was constructed after an $85 million redevelopment.
The casino has over 700 gaming machines, 18 gaming tables and games like poker, blackjack, and roulette.
The Queen Baton Rouge is also home to the DraftKings Sportbook. It contains 20 kiosks, four betting windows and was officially opened last Friday in front of more than 1,000 people.
DraftKings installed a temporary sportsbook in the Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge before its transformation. has since then moved forward with its plan to install a permanent sportsbook.
The Queen Baton Rouge’s General Manager, Matthew Shehadi, the former LSU Tiger quarterback Matt Flynn, as well as Ronnie S. Johns, the Chairman of Louisiana Gaming Control Board, all made welcoming remarks prior to the opening of this 100,000-square-foot gaming facility.
The ribbon was cut by Lydia Chenevert a 30-year-old employee of The Queen Baton Rouge. The Queen Baton Rouge is now open 24-hours a day.
