Starlizard’s Starlizard Integrity Services (SIS), Starlizard’s specialist integrity arm, will use the new system to flag suspicious matches to any interested sports bodies or enforcement agencies. These organizations will also receive detailed evaluations and performance indicators from Komodo.
Komodo will cover soccer, cricket and other sports
The new integrity solution will debut with coverage for cricket and soccer. New popular sports will soon follow. Every time an integrity red flag is raised, Komodo users will get operational alerts. They will also benefit from enhanced interactivity on the platform, which can display and find certain trends and patterns within their respective jurisdictions and sports.
The reports that Komodo has generated will be available to assist in investigations into match-fixing, as previously explained. They can also be used as legal evidence in legal proceedings, provided that SIS evidence has been recognized by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The Fight Against Corruption in Sport: Our Latest Contribution
Affy Sheikh, the head of SIS, stated that anti-match fixing efforts’ future success will depend on investigators and integrity officers accessing “more and more information”. Sheikh described Komodo as an innovative tool that does exactly that. Further explaining that the new system was created with important investments.
Steve Edery, Starlizard’s chief executive spoke out about Starlizard’s commitment to support international sports governing bodies as well as enforcement agencies in the fight against match-fixing.
Starlizard began offering integrity services to the sport industry in 2010. This fight continued seven years later when Starlizard launched Starlizard Integrity Services. The aim was to address integrity and to work with sports integrity stakeholders.
Komodo is therefore the latest addition to the global fight against corruption in sport.
