Premier Greyhound Racing, (PGR), a media rights company that was established to provide greyhound racing coverage to betting companies, has made commercial deals with four of the UK’s largest retail operators.
PGR will supply retail operations for Entain’s Ladbrokes and Coral as well as William Hill, Paddy Power, and Betfred through the new partnerships.
These agreements will allow the greyhound racing rights holder to supply images from British tracks to operators’ shops starting in 2024.
PGR, is a joint venture of Arena Racing (ARC), Entain and owns nine of the licensed British greyhound tracks. It also holds the media rights to five independent tracks.
Mark Kingston, Director of PGR said that greyhound racing has always been an integral part of the betting service. We are proud to have signed up all the major retail bookmakers for the Premier Greyhound Racing Service. This is the best endorsement we can give for the content that we will provide starting in January 2024.
“This commitment by retail bookmakers also underpins viability of service as we seek to drive a competive betting product allied with the highest welfare standards for greyhound racing at our tracks.”
PGR was launched in December 2021. It provides a schedule of greyhound racing live on-screen for fans. It has pledged to invest in Open Racing prize money across its nine stadia. This amount exceeds a combined PS2.5m. This includes sponsorship of a series of current PS20,000-to-the-winner Open Races, including the Premier Greyhound Racing Regency, St Leger, Oaks and Eclipse competitions.
