The gambling revenue in New Jersey grew 9.5% in April, despite a decline in slot machine wins. Slot machine winnings are the primary source of gaming revenues in New Jersey.
The total revenue for the month was $462,7m. This is up from $422.5m at April 2020. However, it is still 5.1% below the $487.4m generated by march of this year.
The market grew in all areas except for land-based slot machines, where revenues fell by 3.2% to $169.7m. Retail table game revenue increased 2.9% to reach $61.8m. However, the slot decline caused total land-based revenues to fall 1.6% to $231.5m.
