Sportradar was named the global data streaming rights provider for ATP starting in 2024.
Sportradar was selected as the winner of a request-for-proposals process that was run by Tennis Data Innovations. The process began in January with five bidders submitting “detailed propositions” in multiple rounds.
The sports data company will now be able offer streaming betting and official data for ATP tennis events starting next year. The current provider IMG ARENA will be taken over by the company starting Jan 1, 2024. This is just three years into the 6-year agreement.
Carsten, Sportradar CEO said that TDI selected Sportradar to help support the tremendous growth of the sport.
“The global reach and capabilities of our offerings will give betting operators innovative, best in class products and tech-savvy tennis players a richer and more immersive experience than only Sportradar can offer.
“Our expertise in the development of advanced technologies, such as computer vision and AI, which create advanced analytics, data visualization and advanced analytics, will allow fans to engage with tennis in new and compelling ways, while simultaneously protecting and maintaining its integrity.”
Tennis Data Innovations was established as a joint venture vehicle of ATP Media and ATP Media in order to oversee the development, innovation, and commercialization of data and betting products during the ATP Tour, TP Challenge Tour, and other events.
David Lampitt is the CEO of TDI. He said that: “We are grateful for all the bidders, who showed such dedication to our content throughout this selection process. Sportradar was chosen by us as our best partner in achieving our growth goals due to its combination of global reach, product capabilities and an innovative business model that has allowed us to continue to grow this market.
“Since the inception of TDI, we have been focused on creating the best data & streaming products for tennis fans and introducing new players to the game.
We will bring great returns to the sport if we do this correctly. This process was competitive and Sportradar won a compelling bid, proving the immense value of ATP content. We look forward to forming a strong partnership.
