Flutter Entertainment is the new headline sponsor of Cure Leukaemia’s flagship cycling event, ‘The Tour 21.’
Flutter will be a partner in the 2023, 2020, and 2025 editions, which each will aim to raise PS1m ($1.2m/EUR1.1m) for charity.
The Tour 21 is a group of amateur cyclists who aim to complete the 21 stages of Tour de France. The event in 2023 will cover 3,000km from 24 June through 16 July.
All funds raised will be invested in the Trials Acceleration Program (TAP) Network. This network covers an area of more than 20 million people, and allows access to treatments that are not available in standard care.
To facilitate treatment of blood cancer, a team of research nurses and other clinical positions requires funding of more than PS1m per year.
Kerry McNally, Flutter’s head of community group, said: “This is a partnership that combines our passion for sports with our commitment to do more to support the communities where we operate.”
“Cure Leukaemia” is conducting transformational trials in order to treat blood cancers patients all over the world. We couldn’t be more proud to help them eradicate this terrible illness.”
James McLaughlin, chief executive of Cure Leukaemia, said: “Flutter is the headline sponsor for The Tour 21, which takes it to a new level. They will work with our strategic partners to raise the profile of both the event and charity.
It makes a huge difference in the total amount of money raised and the impact we can have on the world.
