Alabama’s only tribe recognized by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians has launched a pro-gambling campaign. Under the slogan “Winning For Alabama”, the initiative seeks to gain support for legalizing more gaming and lottery verticals.
It’s time to stop wasting money
Gaming in The Heart of Dixie has been restricted at the moment. Although gambling is not prohibited in every state, it is restricted to Class II properties. Customers can enjoy bingo machines, but cannot wager on sports or play traditional slots.
The Poarch Band is seeking support for a new bill as the 2023 legislative session approaches. Although no actual measure has been presented yet, the tribe hopes to gain strong support from Alabamans.
People from all walks of life talk about the benefits of Alabama’s Class III casino expansion. They claim that the local economy will benefit greatly from casino taxes which are estimated to be around $700,000,000 per year. The money could then be used for infrastructure, education, infrastructure, and public safety projects. The casino expansion will create 12,000 additional jobs.
NASA Signs a Major Deal
The Poarch Band of Creek Indians has just won a $217 million NASA non-gaming contract. The tribe announced that its PCI Productions subsidiary was designated to manage the expansion of communications operations at NASA’s headquarters and mission directorates. PCI Productions will also assist NASA with interagency and public messaging.
The agreement will be in effect from June 1, and PCI will support NASA for 16 consecutive months. You can extend the agreement by up to 20 months, or for two additional years.
Tim McElyea CEO of PCI Productions called the agreement a “culmination”, of his company’s relationship with NASA. PCI Productions was previously known as Media Fusion before it was acquired by the tribe. They have been working with NASA since decades.
McElyea stated these words in an interview with Tribal Business News:
The contract award represents the culmination of my life’s work. This opportunity grew out of our growing relationship.

This agreement is the largest that PCI Productions ever signed. This agreement will increase the Poarch Band’s federal contracts, which are a significant source of non-gaming income for the tribe.
