After being sanctioned by the government, Parimatch recently stopped its business-to-customer operations in Ukraine.
Last week, Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zilensky signed a special order that imposed sanctions against over 250 organizations and more than 100 individuals. After the country’s national defence council decided to sanction the parties due to their association with Russia, the new law was put into effect.
Zelensky clarified the sanctions on the 11th March by stating that several gambling companies were financing schemes in Russia using money from Ukraine.
Parimatch responded by suspending operations in Ukraine and issuing a statement dissatisfying the government’s decision. Parimatch stated that it had never been given any orders to stop its Russian gambling operations. Parimatch appealed Zelensky and asked him to reconsider the decision. He also claimed that certain information was falsified, which played a significant part in the decision.
Parimatch also stated that it is working on a way to fully refund all its Ukrainian customers. Parimatch will end all contracts with local partners, and it is seeking to compensate them fully.
The operator also stated that it hopes to have the sanction reviewed soon and that it is ready to defend itself in court in Ukraine.
