N1 interactive recently announced that it will challenge the Dutch Kansspelautoriteit’s claims and record-breaking EUR12.5m penalty.
The largest enforcement action by the Dutch gambling regulator was taken in December 2022. Although the KSA published a report about it in February with little finalized information, The Kansspelautoriteit published a revised version of the report a few days ago. It included the names and amounts of five of the violating operators. N1 Interactive, which was just over 12.5 millions Euros, received the largest portion of the over 27 million Euro amercements.
Recently, the iGaming operator published its statement regarding the huge fine. It called the Kansspelautoritet’s calculation methods unjust. According to the firm, it prevents Dutch players accessing its website actively and disagrees with the regulator.
N1 Interactive is appealing the penalty. It hopes that the court will make an impartial and fair decision. However, N1 Interactive had requested that the Kansspelautoriteit not publish the amercement until a court decision was made. The regulator declined the request.
VideoSlots also published its response before the official announcement. You can read our coverage of Kansspelautoriteit’s report. We also detailed the intentions of the latter.
