MGM Resorts has extended its agreement with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation to use GameSense. This player health program provides players with tools and resources to support healthy play.
The program, which was launched in 2009, now protects MGM players in resorts throughout the US.
This deal is designed to protect players by putting emphasis on positive, transparent, and supportive conversations in its messaging about how to gamble responsibly.
BCLC and MGM Resorts were the first to link for the GameSense partnership in 2017. The operator was the first to use the program. This renewal takes place at the start of Problem Gambling Awareness Month.
Pat Davis is the President and CEO of BCLC. He said: “We are proud to continue providing MGM Resorts the tools to offer GameSense experience at their properties and online at BetMGM.
“When we come together to share best practices and learn from each other, we can reduce the harm and make gambling safer for everyone.”
MGM has made GameSense available on BetMGM’s online casino and sportsbook. Entain, MGM’s JV partner, also deployed it in its land-based portfolio.
BetMGM, which has integrated GameSense into their platform, provides responsible gaming information to over 100,000 customers every month via direct email correspondence and website visits.
GameSense is now live with 11 organizations in North America, including the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, Canadian provinces BC and Alberta, Saskatchewan and Yukon. “Through our partnership with BCLC and our collaboration with them, we’re proud and do our part for making gaming enjoyable,” stated Bill Hornbuckle. We will provide tools and capabilities to players that allow them to be responsible as the industry grows.
