MGM Resorts International has launched an investigation into a “cybersecurity problem” that has affected the company’s system.
The operator noted that they are working with law enforcement and external cybersecurity experts to protect their systems and data. They “work diligently” in order to determine the severity.
MGM Resorts’ website was still unavailable as of this writing. The website instead contains an apology for customers and phone numbers that they can call to get assistance, depending on the need and location.
MGM Resorts posted on Monday a statement, saying: “MGM Resorts has recently identified a cyber-security issue that affects some of the company’s systems. We immediately began an investigation after discovering the problem, with help from external cybersecurity experts.
We also notified the law enforcement agencies and took immediate action to protect our data and systems, including shutting certain systems down. We are continuing our investigation and working hard to determine the scope and nature of the issue.
MGM Resorts released a statement on Facebook late on Monday. It stated: “As a update to our earlier statement, all of our resorts are operational and continuing to provide the MGM-quality experiences.
Our guests can still access their rooms, and our staff at the front desk is available to help them if they need it. We appreciate your patience.”
