Massachusetts recently launched its own sports betting marketplace. On January 31, retail wagering was launched. An online launch followed on March 10. The state has created a self-exclusion program to protect people from gambling as sports betting continues to grow.
The Voluntary self-exclusion program (VSE), which is offered in every state, allows players to stop wagering for a set amount of time. Players who sign up for the program will lose or suspend all of their reward points, and be removed from any marketing lists.
This program was created to help people stop gambling regardless of their reasons. According to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission the exclusion scheme is an agreement between the Massachusetts operators and self-excluded players.
VSE allows players to choose whether they want to be excluded from gambling or not. The first option will prohibit players from playing online or in Massachusetts casinos, and the second will stop them placing bets on sporting events.
Players can also choose to be completely excluded from gambling by choosing the dual self-exclusion option. Operators may, however, extend the exclusion of players for a variety reasons.
A brief reinstatement session is required if someone wishes to resume gambling after the exclusion period has ended.
There are many ways to enroll

A person who decides to sign up for the VSE program will be connected with an expert who will assist them in making an informed decision. Players will need to show a piece ID with their signature and photo clearly visible in order to be excluded from gambling. Finally, gamblers will be required to sign a voluntary self-exclusion agreement and have a photograph taken.
