Instant Win Gaming, a leading supplier of eInstant Games, which provides content to NASPL/WLA member lotteries, helped Virginia Lottery launch a new game. The new game is called Lotto Virgina. It is the first digital-only, on-demand lottery in the United States.
Lotto Virginia combines classic lotto mechanics and a top jackpot prize to give consumers thrilling gaming experiences. The game is designed with a nostalgic feel while also meeting the demands of customers for digitalization. This is in line the digitalization strategies of the lottery.
Lotto Virginia uses a matrix of 6/42 draws. Virginians have the option to purchase as many tickets per draw as they want, giving them four chances to win a top prize. In order to win, players must match all six numbers.
The retail Lotto Virginia, previously offered by the Virginia Lottery, will be replaced with the digital Lotto Virginia. Both games have a similar style, which is a testament to their appeal.
The Virginia Lottery is leveraging IWG’s Progressive Jackpot Engine to make Lotto Virginia more unique. Over the last two years, the solution has been used in 75 eInstant Games. This highlights the popularity of these titles.
It is also worth noting, that Lotto Virginia’s InstantJackpot prizes are fully integrated into IWG InstantRGS. This allows the Virginia Lottery launch the game with no development assistance.
The game will help the lottery acquire new customers
The Virginia Lottery strategic games manager Scott Kenyon commented on the launch and praised its “Lotto Potential.” He also stated that the game was perfect for the lotteries’ content acquisition strategy as well as its ambition to introduce players of draw games to eInstant Games.
We see a spike in new iLottery sign-ups whenever one of our drawing games experiences a jackpot run. We can now offer them a familiar brand and playstyle, but only in digital format.

Kenyon stated that the addition of the new title is a logical next step in the iLottery mix. He said that he can’t wait to see what players think of the new title.
Jason Lisiecki praised Virginia Lottery’s innovation. He said that a draw-on-demand game with a progressive grand prize was exactly what Virginia Lottery needed to attract new players.
This launch is exciting for me, as it will appeal to the traditional lotto audience while showcasing our wide range of progressive jackpot games.
