The adjusted gross revenue from sports betting in Indiana increased year on year in February, despite a decrease in the US state’s handle.
The total amount of player betting in the month was $356.2m. This is 12.9% less than the $409.1m wagered in February 2022, and 16.6% below the $427.2m wagered this year .
Basketball was the most popular sports among consumers. It drew $166.0m in total bets during February. This is far ahead of football at $20.6m and baseball at $441,296. Parlay bets were also popular, with $69.3 million spent and $99.6 million on other sports.
Adjusted gross revenue was $27.7 million for February. This was up 62.9% compared to $17.0m in February 2013 but 24.1% less than $36.5m January 2023.
Blue Chip Casino and its partner FanDuel remained at the top of the revenue charts, with $13.4m in monthly revenue. This is an increase of $113.2m from their handle of $113.2m.
Ameristar Casino’s DraftKings came in second place with $8.2m revenue. However, they had a higher handle of $121.8m. Belterra Casino, another FanDuel Partner, came in third place with $2.8m in revenue and a handle of $32.3m.
The state also managed to collect $2.8m from sports betting taxes during the month.
