The targeted amount is only PS6,000 short of what was expected. A number of well-known companies supported the zone. This zone was created to raise awareness about problem gambling and show how businesses can benefit from dealing with it on an industry level.

Consumer Protection is Now an Intangible Part of ICE’s Identity

IGT, Betsson and Greentube were among the prominent donors. Flutter was also included. Les Ambassadeurs donated another PS10,000. In the four previous editions of this event, the Consumer Protection Zone’s backers have raised more than PS186,000. This shows that the entire industry is taking problem gambling much more seriously than ever.

Ewa Bakun from Clarion Gaming, director of industry insights and engagement, said that the area was introduced in 2018 and has hosted eight exhibitions. Things have improved as consumer protection will remain the main focus of businesses in 2023.

This year’s edition will include more than twenty exhibitors. These include charities, treatment facilities and other not-for-profit organizations. All of these entities are united in their common goal to ensure that consumers are safe. Other exhibitors include commercial organizations, responsible gambling tool providers, and others.

The Consumer Protection Zone is a key area that has been acknowledged by the 2022 Global Regulatory Awards as a contribution to improving the informational landscape regarding problem gambling.

Jonna Danlund , Head of Sustainability at Betsson Group, commented on the Consumer Protection Zone’s latest edition. She stated that the initiative is a great way to educate people and increase awareness. Danlund said:

It is vital for the industry to collaborate to promote responsible gaming, and to showcase the work being done. This is crucial for the long-term sustainability and well-being for our customers.

Flutter’s head of safer gambling strategy Lisa O’Connor was also delighted to have the opportunity to support the Consumer Protection Zone for another year. O’Connor stated that the event is a focal point for many guests and is proof of how important Safer Gambling to the industry.
