GeoComply has some insight into how many people have used online sports betting since Friday in Massachusetts.
GeoComply operators generated over 8.1 million geolocation check from just over 400,000 player accounts. GeoComply said that Massachusetts was immediately ranked in the top five states for activity. It trails New Jersey, New York and Ohio. This puts it ahead other large markets such as Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, and Colorado.
GeoComply reported that the state’s activity is greater than its population. This state saw twice the activity as comparable states such as Virginia, Arizona and Indiana. Maryland only introduced sports betting in late last year. Here’s the breakdown from GeoComply
“We are honored to be licensed in Massachusetts. We support operators and the MGC as they build a regulated online betting market. The regulations have strict guidelines for responsible gambling. Massachusetts residents will be able to benefit from legal online gambling sites that offer greater protection and a larger budget for responsible gaming programs,” stated GeoComply SVP Compliance Lindsay Slader.
GeoComply was founded by Anna [Sainsbury] & David [Briggs] over a decade ago to solve the geolocation problem. Operators face the greatest challenge today: ensuring that genuine players are onboarded and avoiding fraudsters. We are uniquely placed to fight fraud in all forms, thanks to our geolocation system and an experienced team,” she said.
