Genius Sport has brought two industry experts to its Board to provide new expertise and experience.
Kenneth J Kay was appointed Independent Director of this board. Michael Messara joined the board as an Independent Observer.
Kay also assumed the chair of the Audit Committee, succeeding Harry You. She also took on the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Kay has more than 30 years experience in operational and financial management. He was CFO of several large companies like Las Vegas Sands, CB Richard Ellis Group, and Dole Food Company. He was most recently the CFO at MGM Holdings.
Ken Kay said, “This is an exhilarating moment to join Genius Sports because it continues to transform how the world experiences sports.” As the company moves into the next phase of its growth as a leader in data and technology for sports, I look forward to working closely alongside the board.
Messara is, in turn, the Co-Chief Investor Officer at Caledonia and a long-term shareholder of Genius.
In his previous career, he was an equity researcher at UBS AG. He then joined Caledonia in 2006. There, he rose to the position of director. He is also an Arrowfield Pastoral Company NED.
Michael Messara commented, “Since Caledonia invested in Genius Sports, our strong partnership has allowed us to build on Genius’s many success stories and increase shareholder value.” We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Mark, the board and the entire Genius Sports team.
David Levy is the Genius Sports Chair. He stated that “We are thrilled to have Ken join our Board and take over as our new Audit Chairman. Ken’s vast expertise and depth will be of great benefit to the Company as it develops products and services that are at the heart of the sport data ecosystem.
“We are happy to welcome Michael as an Independent Observer to our Board. This demonstrates Caledonia’s continued support of Genius as it has since our original listing.”
