Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio were interrogated several years ago by the FBI about their connections with Low Taek Jho “Jho Low,” wanted fugitive. Low loved celebrities. He spent a lot of money and sponsored some of their gambling sessions.
Who is Jho Low? And What Are His Relationships to DiCaprio’s?
Bloomberg reported that Jho Low considered himself the “Mozart” of the business world and loved to party with stars and give them lavish gifts. DiCaprio called him a friend. This is not surprising considering Low lavished him with love and even funded his movie The Wolf of Wall Street.
Low claimed that his wealth was derived from an Abu Dhabi-based generous patron. The truth is that Low was actually guilty of embezzling ridiculous amounts of money from 1Malaysia Development Berhard’s government fund. Low became a fugitive, and is believed to be hiding somewhere in China.
Although many believe it was Low’s idea, Najib Razak founded the 1MDB fund. Razak was a complicit, as he funneled $700 million towards his bank account. This earned him 12 years imprisonment.
The FBI interrogated DiCaprio and he suddenly couldn’t recall many details about his relationship with Low. He couldn’t recall details about a former friend’s company or the results of his managers’ background checks when Low sponsored The Wolf of Wall Street.
Kim Kardashian was fond of Low
FBI documents show that Kardashian admitted to the federals that she had a six-time party with Low. They first met when Low paid the businessman $50,000 to have the celebrity appear at his Vegas birthday party.
He also gave Kardashian $250,000 to purchase a white Ferrari to serve as her wedding president. Humphries was, however, the beneficiary of $100,000 Low’s gift to him to purchase fireworks for the occasion.
Low supported Kardashian and her husbands through the years. She later presented Kanye West and Jean-Michel Basquiat a painting by Basquiat, which West declined. Kardashian won $350,000 from a Baccarat session funded by the now-fugitive.
Kim could be required to turn some of the gifts over to the Department of Justice, depending on the outcome of the investigation. If Low is found to have used stolen money for the purchase of these gifts, this will be applied.
The latest findings were reaffirmed amid the ongoing trial of Prakazrel Michel (an ex-member Of The Fugees). Michel was accused of working with Low in order to raise money for Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign.
