Flutter Entertainment, owned by FanDuel Group, has formed a partnership to Major League Baseball (MLB).
FanDuel will be a co-exclusive official partner in sports betting for MLB. This agreement builds on FanDuel’s existing status as an authorized gaming operator for the league since 2019.
FanDuel will stream MLB.TV’s Free Game of the Day via its sportsbook app or via its FanDuel+ OTT portal, subject to local blackout limitations.
Additionally, the operator will be able to use highlights in-product or as part of original programming on FanDuel TV. The league will collaborate with it on innovations in sports betting products to increase fan engagement.
FanDuel, MLB and other organizations will also raise awareness about responsible gambling among baseball fans in North America.
“FanDuel is one of America’s top sportsbooks, and it has provided innovative fan engagement opportunities for them while also reminding them about the importance of doing so responsibly,” Kenny Gersh, MLB executive vice president of media development and business development said.
FanDuel is a natural partner for collaboration as an official partner in sports betting.
Christian Genetski, president of FanDuel, said: “The MLB fan is the most engaged of all sports. That’s why we are delighted to be the new partner for Major League Baseball in sports betting.”
“Our team is excited to show FanDuel at nationally broadcast MLB games. We will also help to enhance game narratives. And bring America’s pastime directly to our mobile app and OTT platform, where fans can watch and wager.
“We are also excited to collaborate with MLB to develop new betting products that will allow customers to enjoy a better experience on every pitch between March and October.”
