FanDuel will not be slow to launch strong in Massachusetts. FanDuel announced a new partnership with the Boston Bruins on Friday, the day of online sports betting.
“Massachusetts has some of the most passionate fans in the country, and we’re thrilled to improve their viewing experience through the launch of FanDuel Sportsbook,” stated Mike Raffensperger Chief Commercial Officer, FanDuel Group. The “Bruins” are the embodiment of that passion, and we look forward supporting them this season and beyond.
FanDuel will be able to use the official marks and rights of the team in its app and advertising. FanDuel branding, which includes the NHL’s digitally enhanced dasher board, will also be displayed in TD Garden.
“We are thrilled to welcome FanDuel into the Bruins family and TD Garden family,” stated Glen Thornborough Chief Revenue Officer of Boston Bruins. “It’s an exciting time for FanDuel to partner with an industry leader, as Massachusetts legalized sports betting in January 2023.
FanDuel’s second Massachusetts partnership is this week. The previous announcement by the operator was a partnership between FanDuel and Boston Bruins broadcaster New England Sports Network. This follows a MLB national deal that FanDuel announced.
FanDuel is the market leader nationally and in many states. However, the industry is closely watching Massachusetts to see how the app launches in that state. Massachusetts is home to DraftKings headquarters as well as the birthplace for Barstool Sports.
