NFLPA members will be able to access a variety of workshops, events and seminars that are live and interactive. The partners also have the opportunity to use in-person facilitators to raise awareness and educate about gambling harm. This ambitious delivery schedule will cover all members of the NFLPA and their support network, from the locker room up to the boardroom.

The US’s Intense Growth in Sports Wagering Calls for Gambling Harm Prevention

EPIC Risk Management has been providing virtual education programs to NFLPA members since July 2020 in partnership with Entain Foundation US. With this expanded partnership, they plan to continue their efforts.

The partnership between EPIC Risk Management and Entain Foundation US could not have been more timely with the record $16 billion in Super Bowl wagers by 50 million Americans. It is vital to raise awareness and educate about the dangers associated with gambling addiction. This partnership will provide resources for NFLPA members to reduce gambling harm risks.

Since 1990, the PAF has provided support to NFLPA members and their families by providing a variety of financial, educational, and health resources. The PAF is an integral part of the NFLPA’s work. It has over 13,000 NFLPA members who help in the success of the group after football.

They also allowed the NFL to become the first American professional sports league to offer a problem gambling education and awareness program. This was possible when the NFL first partnered with EPIC Risk Management US and Entain Foundation US in order to tackle the issue head-on.

Executives embrace the Newly Extended Partnership

Caryl Banks (Senior Professional Athletes Foundation Manager, NFLPA) stressed the importance of informing members about the dangers of problem gambling. She said that EPIC Risk Management has been a partner in raising awareness with a vulnerable population.

The partnership should be expanded to include proactive and preventative measures to ensure the members’ well-being. She expressed appreciation for EPIC Risk Management’s leadership in providing educational programs and their dedication to athlete welfare.

John Millington Senior Director at EPIC Risk Management also commented on the extended collaboration.

With the support of Entain Foundation US we are thrilled to continue our partnership with the NFLPA PAF to support their proactive and holistic approach in prioritizing welfare of the person behind the players. We will continue to offer the NFLPA PAF our complete range of gambling harm minimization skills, so that they are at the forefront in this important work.

John Millington, Senior Director at EPIC Risk Management

EPIC Risk Management provides innovative programs to reduce harm and minimize risks related to gambling in high-risk areas like sports betting. They offer comprehensive training, support, and advisory services to individuals and businesses, helping to reduce the negative effects of gambling.
